From my atelier in Copenhagen (Værkstedvej 19, Valby), my studio practice begins with presence and attention—to material, form, and mineral pigments. It is shaped by a long cross-disciplinary scientific career spanning geoscience and archaeology and a longstanding curiosity about the histories held within the Earth and the traces people leave behind.

Painting offers a space for listening inward. Through a slow encounter with pigment and form, silence, perception, and intuition become part of the process.

My artistic practice is an exploration of inner coherence. It grows from the same curiosity that once guided my scientific work, while opening a different way of seeing, sensing, and understanding.

My first body of work, "Explorations in Inner Coherence", developed over several years through an intuitive dialogue between different materials, pigments, colors, and forms. It became a space for exploring inner coherence while experimenting freely with materials and their possibilities.

My current work centers on "Grounding", an ongoing series exploring the relationship between Earth, pigment, water, and paper, and the interaction between the layers of our inner landscapes and those of the material world we are part of. Created with natural mineral pigments and watercolor on paper, the works explore how these layers meet, shift, and move—within ourselves and in our relationship with the world around us. Some of the pigments I prepare myself from rocks in my own collection, bringing the material itself—and its geological origin—directly into the work. Mobility, a central theme throughout my scientific career as a research professor of archaeometry, is also finding its way into this series, now explored through material, form, and their interactions.
